The Great Bay Beach is a beautiful beach just 5 minutes walk away from Alicia's Inn. It is a great bay where you can enjoy the ocean, aquatic activities, lay on the beach or take a stroll along the beach and enjoy the blue ocean. This is a public beach open to everyone. At front desk you can request a curtesy beach towel that canned be loaned at no extra cost.
The Great Bay Express
Adventure awaits you only 45 minutes away by ferry. Book your day trip to St. Barths before returning home. Leave in the morning, explore St. Barths and return in the early evening. The Great Bay express is walking distance from Alicia's Inn. The schedule is updated monthly and you can book online.
SXM Hillside Plantation
Hiking, agricultural education and relaxation all in one place. Hillside Plantation is filled with history including the historical Slave Wall that connects the Dutch side and French sides of the island. Hike to the top of the hill for amazing views or sit in the garden pavilion and enjoy a locally made bush tee, bush rum or healthy juice. Sint Maarten Museum
The
St. Maarten National Heritage Foundation
is a non- profit organization that aims to protect and promote the island’s rich heritage. It was established on October 4 1993 as the result of a merger between the St. Maarten National Park Foundation and the St Maarten Museum Foundation. The museum includes a gift shop where you can find authentic Caribbean items. Most of the products available are made by local artists. They also sell books, maps and other small publications about the islands heritage. All profits from the shop are used to support museum and heritage projects.

Parotte Ville Bird Sanctuary
Parotte Ville Bird Sanctuary is a walk-in bird par. It's home to a number of exotic birds which include sun conures, ring-neck parakeet, black headed caiques and more. Pinel Island
The Pinel Island can be accessed by a ferry of $12/€10 per person. It wonderful place of total relaxation. Ensure to work with cash. The ferry usually 9:30 am every 30 minutes till 4 pm. Check ferry times in advance. The ferry ride will take between 5-10 minutes.
